Guest Writer: Anonymous

Hey everyone! Hope you have all had a great week.

I know I have been so quiet recently. Working on a few projects for M & F designs that will be revealed soon :).

As I said in my previous posts, I am open to guest features. Sharing one today by an anonymous writer. Enjoy!

Love
It's funny how when you meet someone, it's so exciting
Butterflies in your tummy;
You're excited about the texts, the calls, the dinner dates
It's like there's so much love to give, all these fantasies, all the flaws are over looked.

They say when you start dating, you are bound to either marry this person or break up eventually, every girls dream is to marry this new crush of hers.

The weird thing is that some of these relationships actually do get somewhere but what about the ones that don't?
The love lost and forgotten, the betrayal that creeps in at some point, the rage and the bitterness.
What happened to always trying to make it work no matter what? What happened to being best friends? What happened to all the promises? How did it get so bad?

I can't remember.

To all the love lost, there is a reason; it will get better, as hard as it may seem.

Sean T

Hi everyone! Hope you all had a great week.

I am sure most of you are familiar with Sean T of Insanity and if you are not, Google is your friend! He is a fitness beast. Doing his workouts and watching him is so exhausting. But his workouts definitely deliver.

I have always been a very comfortable size 8, never gone up or down a dress size. I am still trying to decide if this is good/ bad. Some people are probably thinking bunmi how can you think this is bad?? It is bad as I am a curves girl, slim thick to be precise. As I mentioned in this post here, I am an aspiring gym addict. But as they say 'how do you fix something that is not broken'. Story of my dress size! However, to avoid un foreseen "BLOWING", I decided to get a personal trainer. Shout out to my trainer freddieo, you are such a tyrant! He did a workout plan for me and I am going to share it. Definitely needed this as I was getting bored of Sean T's videos. Enjoy!

Weight loss/ gain is actually such an annoying facade. There I was thinking I was gaining weight, I had increased my meal portions and my number of meals per day (as advised by previously mentioned trainer). I saw someone I had not seen in 8 months and she asked "bunmi have you lost weight?'
This was Me after the question was asked. With the extra food I have been forcing down, I would like to know where it is going... Hoping it is places I would like, go figure ;)

Sidenote:
·      ALWAYS Stretch before you start and after the workout.
·      Perform one set of core exercises with one set of legs per day but ALWAYS do the push ups.
·      Circuit means perform each exercise IMMEDIATELY after the other for a period 30 seconds. 30to 60 seconds of rest allowed between circuits.

Monday blues

Hey folks! Start of another week, countdown to the end of the year...

I woke up to Solange's beautiful wedding pictures. It was a refreshing sight. I love her style because although it is unique, she does not go over the top/ try too hard. I shall let the pictures do the rest of the talking.Great article -Solange breaks all fashion rules at her wedding.

We all know how much I love white!

This jumpsuit is EVERYTHING. The back though, not really a plunge fan.

Her wedding dress, speechless...Her mum looks amazing as well. Beyonce looks okay. 3 words I can use to describe her looks are CLASSY, MODEST and RISQUE. All her looks are 10/10.

Wishing her a happy married life xxx

Guest Blogger: Damola Pedro

HI! It's the weekend :D

I have another guest feature for you all today. It is one of my friends Damola Pedro and she is always full of surprises. Enjoy!

WHAT I LEARNT FROM LIVING

Initially when Bunmi asked me if I was interested in writing an article for her blog, the first thing that came to mind was a big no, I’m such an avid reader and writing is not one of my strongest skills. In fact after my brother read my dissertation, he laughed so hard because I have a way of complicating things and making my sentences incredibly difficult to understand. It must be the mathematician in me! And of course, I’m being a show off by telling you I am a mathematician, bite me! However, in light of what I am actually going to discuss in this article, I decided to take up this challenge and write my heart out.

In the middle of a conversation with someone close to me, it dawned on me that I am at my happiest when I am learning. Not necessarily learning within an academic setting. It could be learning whilst conversing with a friend, a stranger, a colleague or anyone I find talking to. It could also be learning through several experiences or just learning from life. I enjoy the whole process because it’s almost random in the sense that you don’t consciously set out to actually learn something, it just happens. I will be focusing on three categories of learning that are incredibly important but taken for granted

Learning from People: we learn from people simply by listening. Being curious and interested in who a person is, what they have to say and the experiences they have to share. So how do we learn from people? How do we make sure we are rightly positioned to learn from the people that are within and outside our network? I think the simple answer is to have an open mind and open heart towards the people we meet regardless of their social class, age, race, etc. And it always begins with a simple question with genuine interest; you’d be surprised how much information you’d gather in a short amount of time.

During one of my visits to my hairdresser, I told her I was about to begin the academic year at a new institution and she gave me a piece of advice that stuck with me. She advised me to be friends with people that challenge me intellectually and socially. She also said I shouldn’t settle, I should keep surrounding myself with people who would ignite the fire in my belly. I literally ran away with this piece of advice because it completely changed my perspective and it changed my life. How was I able to learn from my hairdresser? By simply listening and listening some more.

Learning from Experiences: I strongly believe the path our lives take is heavily determined and dependent on our experiences. These experiences shape and influence our thinking solely because of what we are exposed to. So for me EXPOSURE is a very big deal. Exposure will determine who your friends are, it will determine what sort of business venture you go into, it will also determine the investments you make.

In fact let’s push it further and say exposure will determine the life your present and future family will have. Therefore what you expose yourself to, shouldn’t be taken lightly.

One thing I am constantly trying to do and telling anyone who cares to listen is to constantly get out of your comfort zone and challenging yourself to do things you ordinarily wouldn’t and go to places you have never been to. This is where exposure comes from. Remember at the beginning I mentioned my initial reaction towards writing this article was going to be a no, I decided to take up this challenge and surprisingly, I am enjoying it.

I guess what I am trying to say is that exposure expands your mind in a way that you are able to find confidence and strength in who you are and what you are going to be. An expanded mind is a very powerful tool, because you are able to be more, do more and live a more fulfilled life.

Learning from Life: I understand this sort of learning can be slightly vast, almost ambiguous. However, I want to focus and emphasise on learning from living in this present time. Not three or ten years from now but this moment, this present now is what I am talking about. Many of us, myself included are very focused on the future. We plan, plan and plan some more. We forget that now is what we prayed and hoped for, so we forget to enjoy it and plan for another tomorrow that we would probably forget to enjoy again. The cycle continues and we wonder, “Why does it seem like I am always chasing something?” and we become unhappy.

If there’s anything I have learned this past couple of months, it is to enjoy this present moment I find myself in, make the most of it because this season of my life is going to pass swiftly, leaving nothing but memories behind. I want those memories to be memories that remind me that I lived in the present, not one regretting and wishing I enjoyed it more. Life is so fragile, time moves so fast, everything happens so quickly, if you forget to live in the present, the future isn’t going to be any better because you are going to continue in this futile rat race.

Just take a minute, stop and make a decision to always live in the moment, the future is set, what will be will be, there are trillions of things we have no control over but this “now” moment we have and it is such a precious gift. I strongly believe that we would always get our hearts desire; the only uncertainty lies time, where our hopes and dreams will come to fruition. But best believe that when they do come, it would be at the time that is best for you

I hope this helps someone out there and I hope you will apply some of these principles in your daily lives because these have helped me grow as an individual over the past few years.

Thank you all for reading

Guest Writer: Moyo Bayeroju

Hey folks!

When I started this blog, wanted it to be about anything and everything really. So I am open to features, write ups, etc. But as it is my blog, I reserve the right to decide what is appropriate or not. Do let me know if you want to be featured :)

My first guest is Moyo Bayeroju and she writes. Been best friends for almost 10 years now and I just discovered her talent this summer. Well she just started writing recently. I hope you like this piece as much as I do.

TITLE: TIME

Time seems to be going by so fast
Everything comes to an end eventually, they say.
I'm not sure if this is a good or bad thing but I know for sure that it scares me.
And so for the good times, I've decided to hold on for as long as I can.

I started with this write up a few minutes ago, and soon I will be done. I really do wish I could hold back the hands of time.

How can we hold on to the memorable moments? The treasured ones, the ones that will never be forgotten? The ones that we wish will never end?

So I decided to make the most of it all, hold on to those who are dear, breathe, love hard, hope for the best and pray to have even better times to hold on to, more memories.

Don't be afraid of disappointments and pain, they make the good times feel even better!

Whatever happens, life goes on, let's keep it moving, nothing will stop time.

Good times, I wish you could stay longer

Thanks Moyo xxx

When Life Gives You Lemons.....What do you do?

Hey Folks! Hope you all had a great weekend.

As I mentioned a while back, done with my NYSC so the next stage is a REAL job. I studied geology at university so would like to pursue a career in the oil & gas industry. This industry I have found is the HARDEST to get into. Not sure if this is the norm in Lagos alone but yeah that's what I think. My career 'dream' is to be a world traveling geologist while I am still young and agile. Basically I have a list of what I would like my dream job to entail but as I am not self employed, had to be realistic! Had to narrow down my list but ONE DAY!

So I have done & currently doing a series of tests and interviews. I have found that I would rather do a test than an interview. Yes I am weird like that. I just love working with numbers and solving problems. They are more predictable than interviews.....I am sure you are thinking I should explore opportunities in the finance sector but yeah that is my back up plan. Going to sidetrack abit and complain about the application and recruitment process. Why does it have to take so long? Why do I have to get feedback in 3 weeks and have 5 interviews? Just tell me there &then.... Also do companies not realize the stress and pressure they are causing applicants??? The sleepless nights, the fear of not knowing what is coming etc....

To keep busy & sane while in the midst of said tests and interviews, I have been reading up on some great entrepreneurs. I have discovered some pretty amazing and inspiring ones. So I have decided to start a "side hustle' which involves some of the things I like & enjoy. Doing research about my new baby has been quite exciting and I know it will turn out great God willing. Watch this space :)

As God would have it at my church yesterday (The Elevation Church), the pastor announced that this is Enterprise Development Month. He is going to do a series on Problems, Opportunities and Solutions using scriptures. Guest speakers ( entrepreneurs) are coming to the church as well. I am really looking forward to this.

This is definitely a SIGN. Have a great week xxxx

Go Gaga

Hey Folks! Happy New Month! I can not believe it is November. This year went by really fast.

For the past weeks now I have seen pictures of Lady Gaga and I can not believe it is her! She has gained a few pounds and she looks good!
For example, the picture above. Once I got past drooling over the man I was shocked that it was lady gaga next to him. I love this new look on her. She was too skinny IMO. I had to find out how she gained weight. Apparently her parents own an Italian restaurant and she eats there alot. I think I need to start eating more italian food. Well carbs especially.

Ofcourse some of her fans have criticized her new look. But Gaga you go girl! Let the critics worry about their OWN weight.

Off to stuff my face xxx

LFDW SERIES: DAY 4

FINAL DAY! They really did save the best for last! *pictures overload alert*

My first designer is LANRE DA SILVA

The last picture is of Agbani Darego in one of  LDA's pieces. She wore it better than the model so I decided to share her picture. Beautiful pieces!

My final designer is BRIDGET AWOSIKA. I shall let her clothes do the talking.

I am in love with the black fringe dress. Unfortunately my birthday was in august but hey CHRISTMAS is around the corner!

That's all folks! Till next year!
